Set up call forwarding on your phone

If you kept your existing business number, you turn on conditional call forwarding once, from the phone that line rings on. After that, only the calls you don't answer go to CallCovered. Calls you pick up never touch it.

If you chose the new CallCovered number as your main line, skip this article. That number rings your cell directly.

  1. Have your CallCovered number ready. It is in your "number is reserved" email and on your dashboard.
  2. On the phone your business number rings, open the dialer.
  3. Dial the code for your carrier from the table, then tap Call. You hear a beep or see a confirmation.
  4. Test it: from another phone, call your business number and let it ring out. The text-back should arrive on that phone. Texting only works once carrier registration has cleared.

Codes vary by carrier and by plan. If your carrier rejects the code, call your carrier's support line and ask them to set conditional call forwarding (forward when unanswered) to your CallCovered number. Or call us at (702) 605-4550 and we'll walk you through it for your carrier.

Forwarding can switch itself off. A new phone, a carrier switch, or a reset of your phone settings can undo it. So can dialing the code on the wrong line, such as the office phone instead of the cell that actually rings. If callers stop getting texts, check forwarding first and dial the code again.

The 30-day guarantee only applies when forwarding was set up and verified working. See "Opt-outs, extra lines, the guarantee and cancelling".
